The airport's passenger growth has been near-linear since 2022, with COVID fully behind it by 2023. The 2024 milestone — first time over 10 million — followed the broader DR national milestone of crossing 10 million visitors a year earlier. 2025 set yet another record at 11.0 million, with aircraft movements up +15.6% to 35,092.

2024's 10.1M passengers averaged ~842,000 per month. But the actual distribution is heavily seasonal: December 2024 hit 975,450 passengers, and December 2025 broke the all-time record at 1,087,621 in a single month (+11.5% YoY). Conversely, September-October typically dip 30–40% below the peak.

The 2025 December record matters: it confirms the airport is now operating beyond original-design capacity in peak weeks, which is why Aerodom announced a Terminal expansion in 2025.

PUJ became the first Caribbean airport to earn ACI's Level 3 Customer Experience accreditation in 2025, alongside Skytrax 4-star certification, ISO 9001 (quality) and ISO 14001 (environmental). The Priority Pass VIP Lounge was also named Best in the Americas for 2025. These quality milestones matter for visitor expectations: more lounges, more services, faster immigration.
