Yes — Punta Cana is among the safest Caribbean resort areas. The resort zone (Bávaro, Cap Cana, Uvero Alto) is a closed tourist corridor with private security, gated hotels, and tourist police. Crime against tourists is overwhelmingly opportunistic theft on public beaches and in unlicensed taxis — easily avoided by sticking to resort beaches, booked tours, and Uber inside the zone.
