FAQ
Common questions
Where do party boats leave from?+
Almost all depart from Cabeza de Toro marina (15–20 min from Bávaro, 30 from Cap Cana, 45 from Uvero Alto). A few private charters launch from Bayahibe but those are for full-day combos with Saona.
Are party boats safe?+
Yes — Dominican Navy licenses every operator, life jackets mandatory and visible on board, crew of 6+ including a captain, mate, lifeguard and bartenders. Foam cannons are saltwater-friendly. Read our 'are party boats safe' page for the long version.
What's the music?+
70–80% reggaeton + bachata + Latin pop, 15–20% English Top-40, 5% requests. If your group wants a different vibe, book a private charter — the DJ takes your Spotify playlist.
Is alcohol unlimited?+
Yes, but it's house rum, beer, water and mixers. Premium spirits cost extra and most boats sell them ($10–15/drink). You'll get cut off if visibly drunk — this is enforced.
Can I bring kids?+
Daytime sunset 'family' departures usually allow 12+; loud Saturday-night runs are strictly 18+. We always tell you which version your booking is, in writing.
What should I wear?+
Swimsuit underneath, shorts + tank top on top, flip-flops you don't mind losing. Sunglasses with a strap. No heels, no white linen — the foam stains everything.
Can I book the whole boat?+
Yes — $1,800–2,800 for 4 h gets you the boat, captain, crew, DJ, fuel, open bar and lunch for up to 35 people. Bachelor/bachelorette + birthday groups do this every weekend.
Do party boats run year-round?+
Yes. Dec–Apr and Jul–Aug are busiest with 2+ departures per day. Sep–Oct is slowest (hurricane season) but still runs in clear weather. We never confirm a departure if wind tops 25 kn.
