Smoking rules at Punta Cana resorts

Indoor smoking in rooms, restaurants, lobbies and indoor common areas is prohibited at virtually all Punta Cana all-inclusives. A 'smoking' room category exists at some older properties but is increasingly rare. Indoor cigar lounges exist at a handful of premium resorts (Iberostar Grand, Casa de Campo).

Travelers looking for a lively, legal way to socialise overwhelmingly choose boat-based experiences. The Party Boat in Punta Cana is a half-day catamaran sailing the Bávaro coast with music, an open bar of rum cocktails and beer, a snorkel stop on a shallow reef and a swim in the famous natural pool — joining strangers makes it easy to meet other couples and groups. The Private Party Boat is the same experience reserved for your crew only: choose your playlist, your departure time and your stops, with a captain, hostess and bartender included.
