La Romana port to Bayahibe (Saona departure): 45 min by van. Real options:
1. Saona Island catamaran — yes, doable. Pickup at the port at 8:30 a.m., back at the ship by 4:30 p.m. — we time it for ship all-aboard. 2. Catalina Island — even closer; 30 min from port; back by 3:30 p.m. 3. Altos de Chavón — 15 min by van, half-day, return whenever. We coordinate directly with cruise lines (MSC, Costa, Carnival call here) and have a 100% on-board-by-deadline record since 2019.
If your ship docks at Amber Cove
Honest answer: Punta Cana is 3 hours by road from Amber Cove. Even our fastest private SUV transfer can't get you to a Saona departure, on the water, and back to the ship in one port day. Stick with Puerto Plata excursions (Damajagua waterfalls, Ocean World, cable car) — they're closer and equally good. If you really want Saona, do it on a separate Punta Cana trip.
How cruise bookings differ from regular ones

Can I do Saona Island on a cruise day?+
Only if your ship docks at La Romana. From Amber Cove (Puerto Plata) it's not feasible — distance is too great.
Will I get back to the ship on time?+
Yes. We leave 90 min of buffer before all-aboard. In 6 years of cruise bookings we have a 100% on-time record. Cancellation and full refund if your ship arrives late and the math no longer works.
Do I book before the cruise or at port?+
Book a day before via WhatsApp. The pier is chaotic and resort-style sellers there overcharge by 40–60%. We confirm pickup location and your ship's terminal slot in advance.
What about cruise-line shore excursions?+
Cruise-line tours are convenient but typically cost 2–3x our price for the same tour. Same operators, same boats, ours is direct. Just make sure to add the buffer time yourself if booking direct.
