Saona Island timing
How long is the Saona Island tour?
Door-to-door, plan for ~10 hours from Punta Cana / Bávaro hotels. Our Premium 4 Beaches speedboat tour covers ~6 hours on the water across 4 stops: Palmilla Natural Pool (45–60 min), Toro Beach (1 h), Mano Juan fishing village (1.5 h + Dominican buffet lunch), and Canto de la Playa (1 h). You're back at your hotel around 6 p.m.

06:45–07:30: hotel pickup. 07:30–09:30: drive to Bayahibe marina (≈100 km, A/C van). 09:30–10:00: dock, life vests, brief. 10:00–10:50: speedboat to Palmilla Natural Pool — starfish sandbar, wade in, 45–60 min. 10:50–12:00: Toro Beach — 1 h swim & relax, open bar starts (local rum, beer, water, soft drinks). 12:00–13:30: Mano Juan fishing village — 1.5 h, Dominican buffet lunch, explore the village. 13:30–14:30: Canto de la Playa — the island's quietest beach, 1 h. 14:30–15:30: speedboat back to Bayahibe. 15:30–18:00: A/C van back to your hotel.
Why 4 stops instead of 1 or 2?
Most operators take you to the Natural Pool + one crowded beach and call it a day. Our Premium 4 Beaches route adds Toro Beach and Canto de la Playa — giving you dramatically more variety: a starfish sandbar, a wide open beach, an authentic fishing village with lunch, and a secluded paradise cove. The extra stops are spread across the island so each feels distinct, and Canto de la Playa in particular is far less crowded than the Natural Pool at peak time.
Can you do it as a half-day?
No — Saona is 2 h from Punta Cana by road + boat. The minimum realistic schedule is 8 h from a Bayahibe / La Romana hotel. If you only have a half-day, try a Cabeza de Toro boat excursion instead (4–5 h total, same open-bar vibe, no Saona).
