Weed at Punta Cana resorts

No major all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana permits cannabis use on its property. Major brands operating in Bávaro, Uvero Alto, Cap Cana and Macao — RIU, Hard Rock, Iberostar, Bahia Principe, Barceló, Meliá, Excellence, Secrets, Royalton, TRS, Princess, Majestic, Lopesan — all follow Dominican federal law (which prohibits cannabis nationwide) and add internal smoking and behaviour policies on top. Smoking weed on resort grounds can result in eviction without refund, additional cleaning charges, and at the resort's discretion a call to the police.

Resorts operate under Ministry of Tourism licensing and have a strong commercial incentive to keep their guest experience compliant.
